Don't usually do reviews but felt I needed to. Don't stay here if you want a decent nights sleep Also terrible shower, no hot water from basin and very cold room on arrival. 1st night there was a gentlemen's club dinner who shouted till midnight then the owners or other people in rooms were loud till 2am. 2nd night heavy footsteps crashing about in room above till 1am or so. So tired by the next morning felt ill. Owners not bothered when I mentioned it at breakfast, said it doesn't happen often but they were too busy noisily getting on with their own business while serving breakfast without seeming to notice the guests. Room was freezing when I arrived, had to go to bed fully dressed. No hot water in the shower room basin, and shower just a very weak spray. Realised that there was no point mentioning this either. Bed was comfortable. Cheap but sadly not worth the money. Parking: No parking on site for the hotel. Limited on-street parking after 6pm or walk to a pay car park
Great value bed and breakfast with clean and comfortable rooms. Bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The hosts are friendly and welcoming too. It is basic so don’t expect thrills but ideal for a simple getaway.
We stayed here for 4 nights. The room was very comfortable, it's a lovely old building. Breakfast was good and hearty, on a couple of days we had to be out before breakfast, so we requested packed lunches, and these were great, sandwich, crisps, apple, home made cake and a bottle of water. We had dinner here a couple of nights as well, and again the food was hearty and filling. Location in the middle of the old town was perfect, short walk to the quay and to the Saxon town walls. Parking - you can park outside free from 6pm to 8am, or Bonnet's lane car park is £6 for 24 hours, and only a short walk away.
Only stayed for one night but will definitely return what a lovely friendly hotel My room was lovely and an added bonus on the ground floor . Slept so well really peaceful. The full English breakfast was fabulous excellent experience all round thank you so much
Popped in with my disabled mother limited walking, not fully wheelchair bound, for a cuppa & snacks. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because of the limited access. Not the places fault, it's extremely hard for such an old building to be sympathetically adjusted. The staff, their helpfulness & cordiality more than make up for the little inconvenience that the steps make not wheelchair accessible to the toilet that I could make out. Coffee, tea & scones where excellent really good coffee . Will definitely recommend it & revisit.
Very welcoming, the room's were clean. The breakfast and dinner was presented very well and large portions. We will all definitely be returning again.
I stayed at Anglebury House for two nights at the end of July. I am a keen long distance walker who has stayed at hundreds of bed and breakfasts and this is definitely one of my favourites. At £50 per night my room was great value for money given the location and time of year. I stayed in two different rooms and both were very comfortable. I thought the staff were very friendly and attentive. Emma was very helpful when I decided to have food delivery one night and supplied me with a plate and cutlery. The place has a great atmosphere and as a lone traveller that is the most important aspect to any accommodation for me.
Just what we expected. Simple accommodation, yet clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Good breakfast which set us up for the day.Rooms: 5/5
Comfortable room, good shower. Scrambled egg was a little dryFood: 3/5
Pretty building and room was clean and comfortable - although I like a really firm bed so this was a bit soft for my liking. Friendly and attentive service. Pleasant, relaxing stay.
