Very lovely country pub! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We sat in the stables and had a wonderful evening. We had the Tapas, followed by the sea bass would recommend highly & steak and ale pie. Couldn’t say no to the desserts board and had the homemade sticky toffee also loved and the cheesecake. Even the ice cream was excellent. Will deffo recommend and return.
A beautiful building with a warm, comfortable atmosphere. I had the gammon, and it was absolutely done to perfection. The chils accompanying were your quintessential pub chips and cooked exactly as they should be with a nice golden colour. The drinks on tap were of a good variety with a personal favourite on for good measure. I was very impressed with the dessert choices, having had toffee and honeycomb cheesecake with salted caramel ice cream, and it was presented so prettily. The customer service was attentive and helpful with answering questions. Will definitely be back and highly recommend for an evening Parking: Behind the building, plenty of spaces and good room to manoeuvre around.
I used to live in the village about 30 odd years ago so popped in for something to eat and drink out of nostalgia. And sat by the fire with my newspaper with my lovely meal and a pint of larger.magicFood: 5/5
Place is fantastic very cozy Starters were amazing Dinner is where it went wrong! Yorkshire puds looked like the were from last week and we received them cold! Food was warm and sauces were missing! Dinners came out at different times! The pasta for the infant heat wise was ok but way to spicy!
Hadn't been in a while. Food better than ever. Flame had a massive welcome and lots of fuss. The most dog friendly pub on earth, but having so much space to eat they don't clash with the non dog people. Going back for Xmas dinnerFood: 5/5
CHILDREN NOT WELCOME!! We were asked to leave today after my 5 yo picked a flower from the garden and unhooked their chain fence we clipped it back. The rude woman told us to leave after supposedly destroying the place. The children were playing nicely with a toy they brought with them and were not disrupting a single other person, but that's probably because all the outside furniture was chained up so nobody was welcome anyway. The only thing out of place was the single flower he picked. Repeat, he's 5 years old. The attitude of this woman even as we placed an order was cold. We have been coming to this pub for over 35 years and the staff have never been so unfriendly, unwelcoming and so unfit for a supposedly family-friendly country pub. Will be sharing our experience and will not return until there is new management. Will expect a rude, defensive response from the person mentioned above but will not read it as we have no interest in your reply. P.S. Your wallpaper sucks! Kid-friendliness: Not family-friendly.
Great atmosphere, good quality and well cooked produce, great value for money and attentive and friendly serving staff. Would definitely recommend and will be returning in the future.Food: 5/5
Brilliant country pub. Parking at rear. Table and seating sounding outside. Very cosy feel. An exceptional function room, separate to the pub, perfect for parties. A good selection of bears on tap, no fruit shoots though! Nicely furnished. Dog friendly. Open fire in the corner. Good food, try the battered brie. A lovely place to spend an evening or two.
Booked here last minute due to a change in plans and I can say it was such a great choice. The person serving us was so nice and friendly and made us feel at home straight away. The food was very nice and reasonably priced? Huge thumbs up!! So thanks Becky for keeping us laughing all night
This was my third visit to this pub. Staff very friendly and great if you have a dog, as they are allowed on the premises as well and they even have a Dog Menu.
