Absolutely loved staying here for the weekend. Amour 1 Lodge was modern and very clean. Had everything we needed in the kitchen. Hottub was lovely. Towels and robes provided. Very quiet location. Only tiny noise was a few planes flying over.nLots of walks in the area and nice pubs. The Little Mill pub was lovely.nWe ordered an Indian takeaway the first night which was recommended in their information folder. They delivered to the gates and the food was excellent.nOverall an amazing weekend and we will definitely be booking again
Stayed in the Old Barn Cottage and was the best lodge on site - largest hot tub and our very own private cottage away from all the other lodges. It was also larger having a whole downstairs, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and dressing room. A must if staying on site
This place is amazing!! It was so much more than we were expecting. There was only a few cabins in the little area. It had beautiful views from every window. Every cabin has the back end of a gorgeous forest. There is also gorgeous walks very close by where you can see Manchester in the distance. We stayed in Coombes View Lodge and we walked in and it felt like home. It was so very clean and homely. Nothing like the negative reviews that were everywhere. It was perfect. It had a bath which we werent expecting. A gorgeous hot shower with amazing power. A very cozy living space. All the essentials you will need for a lovely time away. A washing machine, iron and board and mop bucket and hoover so you can keep up to date with everything. A dishwasher. They provide dishwasher and machine tablets. A thermostat which came in so handy because we made it so everything was on when we came home from those chilly walks. Fast WiFi EVERYWHERE which made it so convinient. Netflix and all the apps on a smart tv. The most comfiest sofas and beds. Complimentary dressing gowns. The most amazing thing also was the cozy little Christmas tree up which made our whole holiday.nWe had a little accident when we was on snake pass on one of our days luckily we got back with our insurers but the next day the lovely gentlemen who owns the site helped us get the car sorted and back on the road. He didn’t have too. He had such a busy day as it was but still made time for us. He transported us from A to B and we couldn’t have done it without him.nThis holiday has been a dream and everyone has been so friendly. It is a very high end place to be. very luxurious. Yes there is a problem with the lane on the way in. It is steep and does have pot holes but the owners really do try there hardest to fill them in when they can. I don’t think they have much control over the road as I dont think they own it. It’s iust a way in. So be patient with them please. Go cautious when you go down the lane but I promise it’s worth it when you get to the end. The road flattens out. Thank you for having us we will see you soon x
Overall a nice place. Stayed here for 4 nights with my girlfriend to get away from the busy city life. I can easily say its a nice place with a nice setting. On the first night we had our music on outside and we probably got a bit over excited. We tried to keep the music at a low level because of the other people staying in the other lodges, but sadly people complained and we had a visit from security to tell us to turn it down. We respected this and shut everything off and called it a night. We didn't realise that it was so loud because the lodges are in a valley, so nights are very silent there. We are respectful people and we was mindful of this for the rest of our stay, but what i didn't apreciate was the fact that the hot tub cleaner came knocking on our back door the next day to have a go.. she spoke to me like i was a child saying 'i'm just checking that we don't have a REPEAT PERFORMANCE of last night' i thought this was incredibly cheeky and uncalled for. At the end of the day the security guards came and had a word and we was very apologetic and ensured them it wouldn't happen again, and that should be enough. Having her coming and invading our privacy and speaking to me like that kind of ruined the trip for us. I'm a young 26 year old man... i'm not a child and felt this is how she perceived us. Also a few of the lights weren't working in the lodge. One being the main one above the spa so it was darker over that area when dusk came. The lights in the bathroom were flickering constantly which was annoying when your trying to shower/get ready. People should also bring there own kitchen knives as you can't cut anything at all with the cheap flimsy knives they provide you with. I would also say bring a few bowls and plates as they provide you with very little. The outside of the lodge also needed cleaning as the spa area was covered in cobwebs. The setting of the lodges was what made this place nice. The staff and lodges themselves weren't great. Wont be coming here again.
Lovely and rural. Well off the beaten track. The cabins were absolutely wonderful. Clean tidy and comfortable. Well recommended.
