If you fancy an lovely Italian lunch or dinner, well this place is for you. The food was amazing … a must visit for everyone. The pizza’s looked and smelled amazing. I know what am having next time. Enjoy!
Gorgeous little restaurant and food was delicious. Staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful. At one point we saw who we assume was the boss come out from the back and give the staff all a talking to… staff seemed obviously upset. Staff were apologising for “the wait” we didn’t wait long AT ALL, and then seemed amazed that we tipped given “the circumstances”?! We were baffled. Firstly, I don’t know what the issue was their boss had, as we couldn’t pick any fault. We were told there may be a wait when we arrived walked in, no reservation, and were fine about this, despite hardly waiting… Secondly, no one should be talking to staff in any manner to upset them, IN VIEW OF CUSTOMERS. This is how you lose good staff. 5 stars for this place and it’s serving staff. 0 for the boss and how they treated them.
We visited on 3 occasions, waiting staff couldn't be more helpful. Food was very good, between our visits we ordered 6 different mains and enjoyed all. Great value.
Avoid this restaurant. Booked New Year’s Eve table with amica and had a email confirmation. Turned up last night and the shutters were down. Very disappointed. A email or phone call would have been nice. Lucky we were staying at the Malone hotel and they booked us a table at the gallery. Would recommend this hotel and restaurant instead.
Great home made and authentic italian food prepared by an italian chef. Came here just by coincident and was positively surprised. Very reasonable and fair pricing as well! Definitely recommend.
The menus are 2 sheets of paper stapled together. It really set the tone and we regretted not going to Scalinis. On arrival we were seated and reseated. Appatently the staff see no issue with serving up large bottles of above-room-temperature beer! We asked for a bucket of ice and got a pint glass with absolutley no apology or no offer to set things right. The large bottles obviously wouldn't fit in the glass so I'm not sure what they were thinking. So we were stuck with them. We waited 20 minutes for my wife's desert while someone drove to the shop for ice cream. She got a burnt slice of cake and paid £7 for the privilege. I won't be back and will be warning off friends. First night out without our Young children in a long time ... ruined. Awful value for money. We paid £12 for two warm beers, £7 for burnt cake which we waited on. We spent around £90.00 in total and really what for? Two cheap, plain pasta dishes, some goats cheese and deep fried rice balls... I could make it more flavoursome at home for less than half that. 2 positive points. Staff were friendly if under-trained and the Tiramassu was lovely.
Cracking little Italian. Great food wine and service.
To be honest on the food I would have marked this as loved but the service was slow so I removed a star. At the same time I wouldn't wish to give a wrong impression as the servers were pleasant and I think they were doing their best. Maybe a lack of experience played a role in them forgetting to return for a considerable period with deserts and liquor coffees. Still they apologised unsolicited and deserved their tip. The four diners all considered the starters, main courses and desserts were tip top, this rustic place delivered tasty food that met or went beyond expectations. The lemon tart was one of the best I've tasted with a softness to the lemon filling not often provided. The lamb beautifully tender and seasoned. Those who had chips mentioned them as best they had for a while. As such comment is all relative maybe I should mention 2 diners were from Cornwall. Anyway on leaving we all agreed we would happily return the next time our Cornish friends were in Belfast. Suggest you can be confident of a more than decent meal if you give it a visit.
Best pizza and garlic chips in Belfast in a very affordable range. Must Try.
Service is definitely gd n food is nice especially the penne con pollo i ordered, chicken was tender n creamy sauce with tomato is da best. LOVE IT!
