Booked a trip to manchester airport for my wife this morning sunday 6/11/22 via app couple of days ago......fixed price quotation £85 received via email. Eventually managed to confirm booking yesterday via telephone not an easy task...quoted £90 ???. Journey completed this morning....£108 ???????.Apparently she has been put on a meter!!!! Tried to call to query it ,unable to get to speak with a human,just a ridiculous automated system that's about as fit for purpose as a plastic fireguard. First and LAST time we use this company....I would rather pay another company double or walk in future. An email has been sent to the gentleman who originally quoted a price but is not back in the office until tuesday to request an explanation/refund of the additional £23.
Shocking service tonight. We booked it 2 hours in advance over a robotic system on the phone and had it confirmed. I called and managed to get put through to the driver 20 minutes after it was due to arrive and instead of answering my query as to when he would arrive he asked where our destination was. I told him and he put the phone down. I called again and managed to get through to an operator called Fiona who stated he had cancelled the job as he is allowed to do this as he is self employed. We were not given an explanation or a heartfelt apology. I fully believe he cancelled because it turned out to be not a big enough job for him. I asked for his taxi plate number and Fiona stated this would breach data protection. She also stated she would not be calling him to ask him for an explanation or to return to pick my family up stood in the cold. I was given a generic email address to complain to which Fiona stated would get me through to Leeds Taxi licensing. Absolute dog's dinner of a company that has got too big for it's boots and has lost touch with what it means to give kind customer service. In the end we booked an ÜBer, as at least you know where you stand with them and they come when they say they will.
Ordered a taxi from Leeds Bradford airport 2 weeks in advance. Arrived on time to find no taxi waiting. Waited 30 minutes then rang the office. Sorry, we will be with you in 10 minutes. 30 minutes later and still no taxi. Absolutely shocking service. Will NEVER use Amber again. BTW I had to give them 1 star as there are no scores less than 1 !!!! Next time we will walk. It will be quicker
I was in Leeds from Saturday to Tuesday and used Amber Cars on several occasions. Their automated booking service works really well. The drivers are smiley, friendly and polite. Including getting out of the car to open the door for passengers and helping with luggage. I'd recommend them to anyone visiting or living in Leeds.
Arranged pick up from Leeds Bradford airport at short notice. Picked us up 10 mins later. Excellent friendly service once you got through the phone system and spoke to someone. Far cheaper than Arrow taxis based at the airport. I would not hesitate to recommend.
New to Leeds as visiting St James's Hospital for 1st time so used Amber about 4 times today. Each time the drivers were friendly & very helpful my lad uses a wheelchair. They were prompt & on time and the cars were clean, tidy & comfortable. Would highly recommend & definitely use again if over this way again
The first taxi I got came quickly and took me as close as he could get to the carnival without being stuck in traffic. The second one I waited an hour for & nearly gave up & flagged a taxi down . Then my Amber one arrived as I was trying to tell the driver where I wanted to go. It was very busy because of the carnival finishing & people wanting to leave The Amber driver took me right to my car & waited till I got in my car which was very kind of him. That’s why I gave Amber Cars 5 stars.
Waited an hour in the boiling sun for a taxi after it said It was going to be 20mins. Never had a problem with wheels automated service. But with amber there is no call backs just a text. Definitely won't be using again. Taxi man was nice though.
Booked on line, then had to pay via Air pay which I've never heard of, all a bit scary for a pensioner, thought it might be a scam. Luckily all OK. Very disappointed did not get a confirmation of my booking for the next day, worried on case it wasn't booked. Rang up on the morning of my booking and booking confirmed. Taxi arrived on time, lovely driver. But please make sure bookings receive confirmation.
Pre-booked some cabs to pick us up from a wedding in Skipton, attempted to pay up front several times in order to secure the booking but was told there was no need. Fast forward to after the wedding and there are no cabs - apparently because we hadn’t paid up front! You couldn’t make it up. This meant we were stranded for over an hour, freezing cold with no signal to find an alternative way of getting home. Luckily the staff at the venue were very helpful and ordered us cabs from a local firm. Amber Cars - shame on you for putting a huge downer on the end of our wedding day.
