Went with my dog as part of a day trip, it was amazing. I've always loved visiting waterfalls but I think this is now in my top 2 favourites Fintry Falls being my other favourite.nnIt has so many different waterfall views, lovely scenic woodland area. There is a public path up the top that is optional. It goes quite narrow and warns of sheer drop edges obviously has fencing all round thought!. Going that route gives much better views of the heavier waterfalls and can feel slightly thriving on the narrow path looking over at the waterfalls!nnGood exercise, met pleasant people during the adventure. Dog absolutely loved it. Had never heard of it before but I would 100% go back again and do plan to do that! Hope this helps. Not a great trip to the waterfall woodland section if have mobility issues and needs due to uneven terrain and some steps.nnThere were parts we didn't have time to explore, that why I am unsure if there are toilets or a picnic area etc.
I absolutely love yomping around Alva Glen and surrounding hills… highly recommend the area to all keen walkers as it offers something for a whole range of fitness / walking or running abilities
Fantastic walk up to smugglers cove.nBe aware of really icy paths on low temp days .Great views and not as difficult as you would think
First time in Alva. The glen is great for an afternoon stroll. Only went as far as the dam. With a sprinkling of snow it looked stunning.
Just stunning. A lot of the waterfalls had developed icicles! Perfect place year round
