Alnwick castle is a great place to visit with a lot to view. Plenty of paintings and history to keep you busy for several hours, and the cafe on site is very nice.nnParking in Alnwick for us was directly across from the castle, but you must buy a council pass from the entrance for £1 for 4 hours.
Absolutely brilliant- so much to see and do, we all loved it and great to learn the history. The courtyard with the jester doing tricks , dressing up, tile make was all great for my daughter. The rooms inside the castle were absolutely spectacular. The museums round the border were fascinating. We plan to go back soon as there was more than we could see in a day! Also, brilliantly- a day ticket gets you in free for a year- how good is that!
Absolutely beautiful castle full of history and art. Staff and tour guides are very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the castle. I also think it's interesting how it is still lived in by the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland.
What a beautiful castle. You can explore the entire grounds so make sure you have some decent time to do so. Photography is prohibited inside the castle rooms. Lots of shopping and dining options right outside the castle.
We went there on Easter Saturday 2024, the road to the Car Park was chockers in both directions, had a 15 minute wait, due to the lack of adequate traffic management at the entrance to the car park, this may have been a testament to the popularity of the venue.nPayment to the Car Park is cashless only.nThe castle itself is spectacular, the staterooms are filled with interesting displays. There are plenty of things to see and do for younger visitors as the castle fully exploits its Harry Potter connections.nThis is a spectacular venue, with good clean well maintained toilets, plenty of stuff to keep the kids busy, plenty of food and drink outlets.nThis is a great place to visit, so if you are in the area please give it a go.
