Very unprofessional surgery, it’s very concerning that receptionist’s who have no clinical experience whatsoever can determine whether your condition requires an appointment or not as for patients who are vulnerable and suffer with MH illness’s have absolutely no support and to be spoken to in such a rude obnoxious way by receptionists is again a cause for concern. This surgery requires an urgent review and reception staff require adequate training in how to treat patients and show at least a bit of empathy rather than this hostile approach they have succumbed to deliver to patients, if you cannot show any empathy than you are clearly in the wrong job field. Kindness and understanding goes a very long way. You preach about abuse will not be tolerated but you provoke and frustrate patients to breaking point and then play victim it’s absolutely diabolical what is happening in the front reception of this surgery the way receptionist and reception managers conspire with one another! shame on you for making people feel they have no option but to present to services which will not treat them as most conditions they call for are GP matters please educate your non medical staff on the correct protocols of what can and can’t be treated as it’s not fair on the patient or the other services you are referring them too!
We’ve had several dealings with this surgery after moving here a year ago. They are excellent Dr Das is brilliant and receptionists are all helpful and friendly. We are pleased to attend this surgery. Very prompt and knowledgeable
I tried to make an appointment as I felt really unwell. The receptionist decided I didn’t need an appointment and I should go to a pharmacy. I managed to persuade her that I needed an appointment and it was a good job I did because I was actually seriously ill! Dr Scriminger was fantastic. I then tried to leave a message for my doctor and the receptionist was really rude and put the phone down on me. I have put in a complaint but I’m not expecting it to go anywhere with improving this receptionist’s unprofessional behaviour after reading the reviews on here. It’s obviously been going on for some time and nothing has been changed. I worry about vulnerable people who encounter this person.
Disgusting my partner went in to pick something up .I sat in car with window down .2 woman came out sat on wall having a cigarette another woman came out asked other woman who's the bloke ahd said his name and shrugged her shoulders and went yuk .one patient confidentiality. And shouldn't talk about pditients who have a disability. Will take this further disgusting. Woman
Came in to see if any action had been taken from my neurologist session. Was told to come back the following week. This repeated several times until I spoke to a different member of staff who told me no action would be taken until another form of action was taken. I questioned why I wasn't told this in the first place but it was basically my fault the receptionist lied to me.
I can't speak highly enough about this local surgery who have so many good practices in place. They answer the phone and provide a good, helpful service. So far my experience has been nothing but very good verging on excellent!
I’m fortunate enough to have only needed to phone the surgery twice this year. On both occasions I spent less than 10 minutes on the phone before being helped by a receptionist. The first occasion I was booked to see my GP the same day and the second I was booked in for the following day. A very efficiently run practice and I am very impressed with how I have been treated. This certainly goes against everything you read in the news.
Rudest and most unprofessional receptionist staff I've ever met. I've experienced many different doctors surgeries and never have I been spoken to in such a rude and demeaning manner before, for no reason. I am honestly shocked at the way I was treated. This is more than enough to deter those who need to seek medical help and are apprehensive to do so. I really hope those struggling with mental health in the area have another form of support as this surgery will put anyone off reaching out.
Doctors here are great, professional and helpful. Receptionists here are vile, rude and impatient. Never had a great experience when phoning up. I worry about the disservice the receptionists here are doing for the community, think about it, a lot of elderly people many of whom are nervous as it is to have call up and be cut off mid conversation and be verbally humiliated/ spoken to like a child. Also, people who are phoning up for mental health reasons, or calling to seek help for something that needs to be approached with an equally as delicate manner, they are not going to feel cared for at all. Sort your horrible office staff out.
I arrived on time at the surgery. Unfortunately the system for booking-in wasn’t working so I had to join a very long queue to book-in instead. After waiting about 10-15 mins in the queue I received a text message informing me I had missed my appointment! Finally, when I reached the receptionist I was told that I should have booked-in at the reception screen. Having already dealt with several people in front of me, with the same issue, I was staggered at this response! She then insisted that I never had an appointment in the first place, only to conceded when I provided evidence to the contrary. At this point, trying to make any sense i could of the situation I was dealing with, I genuinely began to believe that she was trying to play silly games. After conceding under apparent sufferance that I did have an appointment and had now missed it through no fault of my own, she seemed to take delight in telling me that the nurse had finished taking bloods and I would have to re-book anyhow! Now please understand that I had taken time out of work and would be making a fifty mile round trip to make this appointment. At the point of trying desperately to maintain a dignified and civilised dialogue, the lovely nurse who had finished her session of taking bloods happened to be passing and overheard my plight. She offered to return back to work and take the samples, wonderful! A polarisation in the situation I was experiencing, I can’t thank this lovely lady enough. With regard to the receptionist. I understand that the job can be very demanding and challenging, as it can in all areas of healthcare and beyond, but a level of professionalism and civil engagement must be maintained. I’m sorry to say, this time, it wasn’t. I’m not one to normally complain and believe I have always exercised patience and understanding, but in this case I feel that the experience I had, should at least be made aware of. Once again many thanks to the lovely nurse. And to the receptionist, perhaps a discussion with you line manager or HR would be beneficial, clearly the work load/situation is having an effect on your work that needs attention.
