The best cafe and food available in Edinburgh. I was shocked to find all the sandwiches and treats were made by the owner fresh using organic materials. If you are conscientious about your consumption source then this is the place for you. All the food is very high quality and there has always been a vegan, veg or pork free option in every visit. The service is the best you will find in Edinburgh. The unique thing about the experience is the wonderful sense of community provided, in my visits I have had lovely chats and interactions with the owner and other customers. Must go cafe!
Absolutely deserves 5 stars! What a lovely cafe/bakery. I was surprised that this place was so quiet when we visited on Saturday morning. Frances is very welcoming and super friendly. I can’t believe that she does this all by herself; it’s very impressive. She has a nice selection of sweet and savoury food. She learnt a lot of her baking skills whilst she visited France and it was lovely to hear some of her story. My wife got the bacon roll which she thought was excellent and I got the focaccia filled with amazing ingredients that I can’t remember, but I do remember it tasting unbelievable! The focaccia was large and satiating. We had room for a pistachio financier which had a very unique texture and tasted fantastically sweet. Bill came to a reasonable price. What a wonderful place which we will definitely be back too.
Wonderful wee cafe! We enjoyed delicious toasted croissants with mozzarella, tomato and pesto, alongside a great latte. Lovely home baked cakes too! Thank you Alibi Cafe!
Excellent coffee. Nice ambience and really uber-delicious basque cheesecake. We met the owner and she is affable - not to mention it is laptop friendly. Highly recommend this coffee shop!
My family is visiting Edinburgh from the US and we were blown away by this cafe. The coffees, filled croissants, and pastries were all incredible! We tried many. Great tables in the front and a nice sitting area in the back. Best of all, the owner was the most friendly person we met on our entire trip. She was so kind to us and our two young children. We highly recommend! Kid-friendliness: My 2 and 4 year olds were welcomed and loved the food! Dietary restrictions: Milk alternatives available
It is one of the best coffee shops I've studied in. It is a beautiful shop, with loads of light in the front room. The owner is just lovely, and offered a comfortable space, great coffee, and delicious pastries during a difficult semester. Her sandwiches are also delicious, and she has both meat and vegetarian options.
The owner is one of the most passionate and best hospitality professional I have ever met. She was doing the service herself and I felt being home from the first moment: she was that kind and cute. She cares about everything: makes her own special bread for the unique sandwiches which are all super tasty and healthy. The design of the place is very moody and the atmosphere attracts the nicest people. I can honestly say that visiting this place was one of my best experiences in Edinburgh! I am gonna go back everytime I am there...
The best and most affordable lunch I've had in a long time! The sourdough is made fresh every morning and the slow cooked Filipino pork was full of flavour! Even the cakes were made in house so I had my personal favourite the Basque cheesecake. It's a beautiful cafe it feels very cosy with all the beautiful woodwork. Can't recommend enough!
Nice experience! The sordoughs very lovely and I had a financier which was such perfect! The owner been trained in France and is very talented and nice! I highly recommend it is dog friendlyFood: 5/5
This place was the perfect place to grab a coffee and bite before walking all around Edinburgh! The owner was the sweetest and makes all her food from scratch! We had a couple of her amazing filled croissants, lattes and a chocolate torte which I highly recommend getting!
