Every time one takes a casual stroll through the chic streets of Mayfair, passing all the world-class galleries, luxurious hotels and branded boutiques, why not take your place among 2 of the 20th century's most exalted heroes. A life size statue of the 2 greatest heros - Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Churchill 30.11.1874 - 24.1.1965, was a British statesman, soldier, and writer who served as Prime Minister of the UK twice from 1940 to 1945. One of the most influential and formidable leaders of the 20th century, who had a passion for art and hobbies. Roosevelt 30.1.1882 - 12.4.1945, was an American politician who served as the 32nd president of the US and the only one to serve 4 terms. He led the US through 2 of the greatest crises of the 20th century, being the Great Depression and WWII. The bronze sculpture celebrates the relationship between the two heroes, depicting the 2 friends in conversation sitting on a bench with Churchill holding his trademark cigar was created by the British-American sculptor Lawrence Holofcener. He named it "Allies" as he had in mind the friendship between the two wartime alliance. The statue is on New Bond Street, Mayfair between Grafton St and Clifford St with the nearest Underground being Bond Street on Central, Jubilee and Elizabeth lines. The statue "Allies" was unveiled by Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, in 2nd May 1995 to commemorate 50 years of peace since WWII, also presence was the former Ambassador of the Unites States, Crowe, in Bond Street.

Beautiful statue of two leaders talking as two friends sitting on a bench: Roosevelt and Churchill. Princess Margaret unveiled the statue in 2 1995, to commemorate 50 years of peace. Good photo opportunity sitting between both leaders!
Eat is a bench on the street of London just to take a funny pictures. Go there and enjoy your London. Really nothing is special about this place.
A lovely stop and we’ll worth the visit.
Great photo spot commemorating the important partnership of the United States and The United Kingdom and their leaders, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Prime Minister Winston Churchill during World War Two. Take a seat in between them, get cheeky on their laps, or take a reverent shot behind the bench ... and if you can afford it, stroll into Patek Philippe behind the bench and purchase one of the best timepieces in the world ... the whole experience will no doubt be ... timeless.
Nice statue, conversations during difficult times. Feels welcoming.
Beautiful sculpture, historical place, surrounded by luxury shops.
The street was wide and clean. All up and down the street were stores from the likes of Prada, Burberry, Chanel, Michael Kors and all of the high end stores. Really fun to window shop but not in my price range
An amazing location , being able to sit next to a criminal and a bit of a war criminal is a fantastic experience ‘tis as if they’re really there beside you only addition they could make is a model of Stalin who is sadly not already there.
