Just received the greatest kindness from one of the staff members .After being embarrassed yesterday having to put all groceries back due to NHS healthy start card not functioning even with the correct funds there , I tried the card again today after speaking to the healthy start customer services giving me the confidence it should work again. But however it still wasn’t working and I told the man on duty of self checkout that I’d have to put the shopping back yet again which also worried me that I wouldn’t have the food my daughter has for her lunches .But instead he told me to wait a minute and then he came back to me and paid for my shopping ! Honestly so grateful for the unexpected kindness and unfortunately didn’t catch his name but hopefully the shift manager would be able to indicate who was on self checkout this evening 05/02/2024 @5pm and give the man the recognition he deserves for his selfless act of kindness. Thank you again you saved me the embarrassment and also made me able to feed my daughter tomorrow and the next couple days .
I've always found the staff in this Aldi store to be nice and polite, but that image took a bit of a knock yesterday.nThere was only one checkout open, and my items were duly placed on its conveyor belt. The nice lady in front of me noticed that I’d only got five things, and offered to let me go in front of herself and her husband. I thanked her and accepted her kind offer, my five items were carefully placed in front of the cashier.nnI had expected the conversation to go something like this:nnCashier:- Hi, how are you?nMe:- I'm fine, and you?nn*Beep,beep,beep,beep,beep.*nnCashier:- Thank you, and have a nice day.nMe:- Same to you.nnHere's roughly how the conversion went.nnCashier:- You shouldn't have used this checkout with such a small number of items, you should have used one of the self-checkouts.nMe:- I do apologise, but I had no idea such a rule existed, I haven't seen any signage informing us customers of this fact.nnCashier:- Hmm, well, there aren't any signs, it's just an unwritten rule, but regardless, you shouldn’t be using this checkout.nnBefore I could reply, the nice lady behind me, skilfully de-escalated the situation by telling the cashier in a nice, friendly manner that I was probably only trying to save her from losing her job by choosing not to use the self-checkout.nn*Beep,beep,beep,beep,beep.*nnMe: CheersnCashier: Radio silence.

It's okay. Sometimes a bit messy in the middle isles, staff not particularly helpful but then they've lots to do. Fruit and veg not great and doesn't seem to last long. I only go in mainly for the cheese topped cobs, they're very nice.
Best place for grocery shopping all around uk, yes it’s cheap when you compare with other supermarkets but quality is good. They have a wide verity of offers for random items which you end up buying.
