Did shop during Monday day time so wasn't so busy and was a nice shop.nnHad almost all the items I was looking for.
Merthyr is not the best of Aldi stores with seemingly aloof staff. Recently during an evening shop, half the freezers and fresh produce section were low or empty - why, is the store closing? Some of the staff are aloof too but this is an Aldi thing in general. Also, restock the shelves on nights, why wait until store opening at 8am to block aisles with stillages and pallet trucks? Fruit and veg is also a bit iffy. No tills open until I asked, then the girl who opened it spent the whole time yapping on a headset.nnOn a more recent visit, a different till girl, who makes eeyore look like Jim Carrey moaned to another staff member about a recent night shift and someone called Jamie; not a word to me the paying customer, not even when handing over the receipt. Avoid.
The food quality is generally good, with a wide variety at reasonable prices. In addition to their regular stock, they offer a changing selection of extra items, some of which are great deals, while others may not be to my taste. However, trying them out could help you save some money. Overall, their food is similar to, and in some cases even better than, what you'd find at other supermarkets.
For the most part, the best prices around.nAnd you can't go wrong with some of the seasonal deals in the middle aisles!nNot a fan of the new car park ... Seem to have added about 7 new spaces and completely lost the pavement area behind the disabled and family parking zones ... Walking and loading now exclusively on main road as with all other spaces ...
Above and beyond.nExcellent fresh bountiful produce. A good range of products and the service offered by the staff was prompt, helpful and personable.nnGreat customer service and a cheerful customer attitude as well as team spirit. In my opinion this is the best Aldi in South Wales and I have visited quite a few in the past few months.nnThank you
