Did Hospitality at Aldershot Town, as a neutral groundhopper. Brilliant club, with great people. There is a lovely buzz about the place, hopefully looking at some good times.nThe ground is a must visit for football fans. It's a brilliant throwback to how the football experience used to be. A decent terrace behind the goal, which creates a great atmosphere. Plenty of seating as well. It would be sad for football if all these grounds get replaced with soulless bowls.nFood excellent, well looked after, highly recommended !!
A very old fashioned stadium with standing instead of sitting down. Easy to get too and plenty of parking around the ground.
When I called up the for the tickets in the away end the lady on the phone was so accommodating and helpful. When we arrived at the ground the stewards who greeted us was less so.nnWe were advised that we were unable to park in the ground car park and have to park in the town centre. My son instead decided to park and double yellows where an Aldershot staff member had parked and was shouted not to park there.nnOnce parked up after arranging to contribute money to a company nearby we waited by the same gates to get in only to hear the same stewards who locked gates at 1.30 to park on the same double yellows - one rule for one and one rule for everyone else.nnInside the ground the rest of the stewards were polite and helpful the ground itself takes you back to the 80s and 90s with the old style turnstiles incorporated into the wooden stand. Very much old trying to meet newish.nnDisabled toilets facilities not really fit for purpose if in a wheelchair located in the south stand.nnGreat choice of music in the ground - bit of something for everyone.nnAnd great atmosphere.nnPositives - helpful, accommodating and friendly stewards, polite office staff, throwback stadiumnnNegatives - South stand disabled toilets, some stewards with double standards
It's an old traditional ground with loads of atmosphere but they shut the away fans' turnstiles after less than 10 minutes so 25 people who'd travelled for hours to get there couldn't get access until they'd shouted for more than 10 minutes. Very unfriendly indeed.
Well Aldershot won 5-2 a plus but your guttering needs to be sorted on the stadium when there's a down pour!!
