Story

Alchemy roasts and delivers fresh speciality coffee to cafés, events and connoisseurs throughout Europe. We're full service Roastery which means as well as our coffee roast and supply, we sell espresso machines and grinders, run training courses, service machines and offer a barista service for hire.

Our café is open Monday till Friday and is based on the corner of Ludgate Broadway and Carter Lane - officially 8 Ludgate Broadway EC4V 6DU

The Roastery is closed to the public except by appointment. We roast in south Wimbledon on a 12kg Probat, we have a little Probatino 1kg and a tiny Pinhalense sample roaster. We're talking batch roasting, all by hand, with a lot of love care and attention.

"Speciality coffee shops with locations near Old Street in Shoreditch or Blackfirars in the City selling artisan coffee from local London coffee roasters Alchemy. A great place to sit down and have a coffee, pastry, cake or even a cheeky Tim Tam! Takeaway beans available as well as a selection of home brewing equipment."

Can't comment on the coffee shop as such but I just tried my first batch of coffee ordered from Alchemy's roastery and it was delicious. Sweet, fruity, very tasty light roasted Kenyan beans. Customer service was above and beyond excellent. Look forward to dealing with them again and hopefully get to one of the coffee shops next time I'm in London.
I have been wanting to visit Alchemy for a couple of years now. I have had them on my list since summer 2020 when I happened to walk past while they were closed. I was finally back in London this week, and was so excited to finally check them out and also brought along friends. There were 4 of us and we all got drinks and a couple of pastries. the flat white I ordered was decent and the young lady who took our order and served us was amazing. The other couple of drinks and pastries didn’t taste very fresh. However, the reason why this place isn’t getting 5 starts from me, is actually because of a gentleman who works there but was not on the clock yet. He had arrived well after we placed our order and we were waiting for 2 additional seats to open up next to the 2 we already were sitting on. A man was getting out of his seat and we were clearing standing there waiting, and suddenly, this employee, swoops in and takes that seat before we had a chance to put our drinks down. Not only was this employee sitting in the customer seating area, he continued to get up and make himself drinks behind the counter and go into a back room and come back to sit next to us and began eating a bowl of noodles. And he even rudely, asked us to move over even tho, we were all there before he got there and he took the seat from us which we were waiting for. It left such a negative feeling for me and my friends and we quickly finished our drinks and left. I will never return to this cafe again and I am so disappointed that a place which I have been wanting to visit for so long, would have an employee treat us with such disrespect. I would recommend just ordering your drink to go if you have no other option in the vicinity.
Well located and decent coffee but only decent - nothing more. Staff frequently more absorbed in their own conversations than focusing on the coffee or acknowledging customers. Place is nice but a lot less than it could be because of the staff attitude.
Good coffee in a cute little cafe at the intersection of several small lanes between St Paul's and BlackfriarsFood: 4/5
Excellent latte, delicious and gorgeous with a swan latte art. Super courteous, friendly and smiley staff. One feels very welcomed here! Thank you
Sometimes the stars align Opus beans and coolest service and beans - don’t tell anyoneRecommended dishesCroissant
Excellent customer service and even better coffee. My flat white was perfectly extracted with spectacular milk. I was initially hesitant about the espresso ice cream, but it is ver pleasant to round out the pallet on a hot day.
Terrible service- the staff almost seemed bothered we walked in. Incredibly slow. Ordered a flat white and a cappuccino, and basically received two lattes. Very disappointing. Would definitely not go back.
Probably the best coffee place in London. Havent been to all of them but know the taste of a good coffee. Costs around 4 pound a coffee. Strongly recommend the chicken sandwich.
Enjoy coffee with Rainy view , they have collection of coffee beans for milk base & filter some accessories .. Recomended Pay card only
