Unlike most other test stations, Alan's Test Centre is an unbiased MOT Testing Station. It is unbiased because we ONLY carry out MOT Tests. We do NOT repair, service or maintain vehicles, for this reason we have no vested interest in failing a vehicle in anticipation of being asked to carry out any repairs. AND DON'T FORGET, BECAUSE WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR A RETEST* WE ACTUALLY WANT YOUR VEHICLE TO PASS JUST AS MUCH AS YOU DO!

Terrible, advised I would be late after the school run and the roads were flooded so took a detour as the car is low to the ground. Arrived 9 minutes late after telling them I would be delayed to be told my slot has gone. No interest in rebooking me in the lady on reception had zero interest in trying to help me, avoid!
Absolute joke of a place,been using these for years for my vehicles,never had any issues,in last few years it became ridiculous.Took my both vehicles in recently,they knackered up 4x4 on my suv due to parking brake test on rollers,when it meant to be tested on gradient due to 4x4 diff at the back,which is blatant incompetence,costing me 850 to fix.Made up some random advisories for emissions label missing for other vehicle,when it was in the drivers door opening.Went to different garage,they opened drivers door and pointed at the label mentioned,in front of my eyes asking why they didn't see it and whether they know what they doing.Not worth hassle,awful experience.Just waste your time.Completely lost my trust.Go to Daves MOT Test centre instead a lot more professional and quicker.
Always have used this Alan's, 20 yrs ago I took my work vehicles there & always enjoyed the relaxed surroundings & friendly staff. The same applies today when I take my vintage motorbike Myrtle for her MOT. Thanks again for looking after us both
Using the center for a good few years and never had any problems. MOT my cars and bike there. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Fully recommended.
Superb test centre. After being failed at another garage having replaced brand new parts and having those parts marked as "fails" and other things which I could blatantly see weren't correct Alan's Test Centre went through my vehicle with a fine tooth comb and indeed confirmed to me that my vehicle was indeed road worthy and the previous garage was simply being pains. Everyone from the receptionist to the testers were truly lovely people. James in particular was a great insight and explained and showed the testing procedure.
Small and useful. Could do with a bit of "face-lift" thr office is a bit dingey but it serves a purpose. The staff are always welcoming and very friendly especially the receptionist. She's absolutely lovely and warm. Hopefully she's a very valued member of staff
Great friendly service. They do motorhomes as well as cars. I have been using them for years now and am always happy.
The Mansfield branch is fantastic. Decent & honest staff. The receptionists are lovely and welcoming. Very thorough and efficient testers. I am really pleased with their service and will definitely recommend them to others.
