Visited on Easter Saturday, What a delightful shop, alot of interesting times, good toy store upstairs, thanks to the lovely lady who helped my daughter pick the guinea pig toy
From the minute you enter this shop the two resident jailers who stand at the till like scowling prison guards stare at you with mistrust. Despite looking fairly? respectable I always feel as though the staff are obsessed that customers are stealing from the shop. As you browse the envelopes or stationery the two jailers stand over you with looks of complete disdain. They nudge each other to alert themselves about the prospective thief who has just entered the shop and then nod slowly to let you know that they have seen you. I am honestly not paranoid I my work dictates that I dress smartly and professionally so it is most strange how the staff behave. Other friends and family joke about how they also have the same experience so that makes me feel better. The positioning of the till is clearly for the benefit of customer "surveillance". Not at all welcoming and the products they sell are overpriced. If I was to turn to a life of crime which I'm not I would probably target gold bullion not pencil sharpeners and envelopes. Sorry but stop treating customers this way.
Really rude older lady working there, short blond hair. Asked a young girl working ag the counter if I can just have 2 pieces of tape to stick down my parcel I had just bought all the parcel bits from them, the girl was about to give me some and this rude unhelpful older lady came over saying no we don't have any, you can buy some right there though and pointed at the tape. It was 2 pieces of small tape I was after. Zero customer service.
Just find this shop very uninviting , the staff look at you like your about to do something wrong! Its over priced and does not have a good selection like it used to have ! I'm amazed its still going due to the competition of other card shops etc. just not a nice place to be , if your not depressed when you go in , you certainly will be when you come out !
I have bought toys for my 3 year old son. The staff are very helpful. We buy Orchard Toys, Hot wheels toys as well as Schlech animals and dinosaurs. The shop has a good range of these toys as well as Lego and Playmobile. The price is no different to buying from Amazon for the same product. My son loves picking his own toy and taking it to the counter.
Love going here with my kids..... Good memories of getting took here when I was a kid.
Lots of stuff but a few things are a little bit overpriced, the post office is good.
Great shop, good range of products. Reasonably priced
Average stationary shop. Gift shop upstairs.
