Nice decor but the choice of food from the menu is very limited, been to other similar restaurant with much more choice... can't belive they don't do platters... aziziye in stock Newington and le shishe in mile end is much better.. Went here today 5/10/14 with 3 of my cousins. Only 2 waitress for the whole restaurant. . Didn't get any bread or anything.. its came with our mains... my brother ordered a chicken meal that was full of salt and when he asked they women went back with his food and come back after 5 mins sayin the chef said that's how the mean comes but surly she would have known or stated it in the menu.. then he said can I order something else but the women said he would have to pay extra which at first we thought we jus have to pay the difference when we got the bill we realised she charged as for the meal we didn't have and and we have to pay.. but then when we spoke to the manager she paid is back for the salty meal.. Overall the staffs are very friendly. But not really worth the money as my mix grill didn't really have any thing that was mix.. few pcs of meat and chicken
The restaurant is nicely decorated with arabic theme lighting. However I found the dishes to be small portion, over priced. They even added 12.5% service on slow service.
I have eaten at Al Souk by chance and at a pre-arranged social gatherings on a few occasions, sometimes reluctantly, and have found both the food and service at this eatery to be inconsistent in the extreme! The food at Al Souk can drastically vary from one dish to the next and any repeat visit is almost certainly going to be different from the first. A pleasant dish is usually followed up by a bland or over cooked one or an old side salad! I have also noticed a high turnover of waiting staff. This may explain the general clueless nature of most of the waiting staff, but, based on my experiences, the good ones are certainly not hanging around. The eatery generally rates as average at best when ordering food from the À la Carte menu, but usually poor-deplorable when you order one of their meal offers. A 'TasteCard' significantly reduces the price of the meal and helps make it more palatable! Some reviewers have enjoyed better tasting food than I have at Al Souk, but I am not sure if these reviewers have been more fortunate than I or have not had the benefit of enjoying a more quality Lebanese meal from across town to use as a comparison. For me, the food at Central and West London Lebanese eateries simply tastes better and more sophisticated to that at Al Souk and the other East London eateries that I have tried; especially the Shawarma dishes, which have far superior marinades with more depth of flavour and offer tender meats. This may be because some of these establishments are not actually owned by Lebanese or Arab owners or chefs! However, I do have to commend, Numan, the waiter who served me and my group on my last visit. He was very pleasant and tried his best to offer a high level of service.
Terrible experience! order took ages to arrive, messed up on my order when it finally did arrive my starters came towards the end of my meal piece of hair found in the salad. manager was very apologetic for the terrible evening, the owner was there and I managed to pass on my feedback to him he did not take it very well kept banging on on how good his chef is! OVERPRICED AND MENU IS EMPTY!
staff were friendly but food was not great at all. certainly not the best; I would say the worse mixed grill I have ever had! do not waste your money.
Interior is very nice. However for the price the food isn't worth it. They're very strict on altering the menu. Food was average. The booths are small too.
Absolute terrible experience at this dusty place never coming here again food took 2 hours had to go dominos next door to break my fast, I blame my boy Muz for bringing me to this '10/10' place I felt like I was in a cab office back in Pakistan thanks for the let down Muz u clearly have low standards in life. Don't think I can be your mate after this. I'm gutted bye going to puke this crap out
Not too crowded. Damn good shisha much better than those edgware areas. Mostly guys on a friday night though, so if you're looking for a decent mix then maybe turn up saturday night.
Top restaurant. An authentic lebanese dining experience. I reccomend the kibbeh, batata harra and the tiger prawns, though every dish ive tried has been above great.
It was a terrible experience absolutely crap made me fast an hour extra and then the food was crap smelt like a crack house the food is not even snapchat worthy feel sorry for the boy Muz let down we feel like p****s now
