Struggle to believe I actually came into a masjid, coming from out of town as a visitor attending a Janazah, I’d travelled several hours to reach here, and upon arrival decided to find my father by calling his mobile standing in the shoe lobby, not even the main prayer hall only to be rudely grabbed from behind and very disrespectfully told I couldn’t use my phone indoors and had to go outside. Individuals working for the masjid seemed to approach others too as though it was some type of prison, no manners, not even a greeting of salaam was given, just uptight and rude. Jummah Khutbah began and the Peer leading decided midway through that he’d shout at the congregation to shut up in a Mirpuri dialect and have respect for the house of God, despite the fact that there really wasn’t much to make a fuss of people entering and background noise is inevitable, but he seemed to expect silence. As a guest to the city and to what is the house of Allah, I have never been more put off by an institute and it’s people. It’s reflects the state of our ummah, Islam is an evangelical faith but there was nothing evangelical about this place..dawah to deen could never happen here. Left disappointed and feeling very disrespected, manners go a long way. May Allah grant rectify their transgressions and bring compassion and mannerisms into their hearts.
A beautiful masjid of the Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat.
