The library is great, however don't trust Google maps to get you there, this shows the wrong side of the road. It is part of Bankfield Museum, and that is why it is wonderful. The library itself is sparse, the town centre one is better but the atmosphere here is far better. Set in Bankfield Museum within Akroyd Park the room is old style, squeaky wooden floors and dark atmospheric feel to it. Perfect for a library. However opening times are not great. But then all you have to do is walk around the museum, specially at the moment which includes a WW1 exhibition, the original blade from the Halifax Gibbet, usually an exhibition and a textiles display/history of. All in all worth some time to spend there.
