Having tried every Indian take away in the area, I eventually stumbled upon Akash in Blackrock. I enjoy very hot dishes and their Lamb Vindaloo which they can make to whatever heat you would like, with a few nice cold beers, has been my Sunday evening treat for the last 4 or so years. Delivery was always fast and the drivers and guys on the phone always really friendly. Now I am moving away from the area, I will miss this place badly and only hope there is somewhere half as good near my new house. Keep up the good work lads, and thanks for many enjoyable years of eating all that delicious, spicy food.
I got takeaway from here tonight. I usually get somewhere else, but I said I would have a change. We got the butter chicken and lamb roganjosh. To say it tasted horrible is a understatement. It was as if they had literally got to jars off sauces from a supermarket, and popped in some frozen chicken and lamb. We had a few fork fulls of it and threw it in the bin. I probably should have known how bad it was when I went to collect at 7pm and their was not one person sitting in the restaurant. I would highly recommend people not waste their money here. It would be better to cook at home rather than eat here.
Beautiful, if slowly delivered food. Well recommended. We were unlucky the five of us got in just after a group of ten, assumption: that's why the delay. Will try again cos food delicious!
They don't mention beer on the menu, presumably so that you will buy more expensive wine from the accompanying list. Also, no beer on display at the bar. I find that a bit sneaky. Cobra available if you ask. The food was ok. Onion Bhaji was crisp, very big portion definitely enough for two but no accompanying yogurt or dips. Then I had Karahi King Prawn. Salty, thickish sauce, no discernible vegetables anywhere to be seen. No particular flavour other than tangy. Over cooked prawns, and damp pillau rice completed my disappointment. Pleasant surroundings, attentive service, underwhelming food.
The restaurant is clean and well presented, but the food is overpriced. The service is very - they really need to hire more people for busy times. The food is overpriced and not that good. I had a naan that tastes like it was from a packet and a tandoori mix that was overcooked.
Delicious meal had by three of us, great service & a lovely space.
Good, but on site customers seem to be served after phone up delivery customers
Wonderful food have eaten here for years
Had the butterchicken and naan As very very good
