A friendly place where the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. Food excellent and also service. Both my wife and I had left behind items which were sent on promptly by the staff - well done and much appreciated!

Stayed at the hotel for three nights whilst visiting the Angus Glens well run warm friendly family hotel in the center of town excellent owner and staff very helpful.

I went for lunch today with a friend and ordered the chicken with black pudding. My friend ordered the marinated chicken. When it arrived, it was obvious mine had been over cooked and was dried out. It was clearly visible on the plate and the skin on the chicken had been cooked more than once! The girl asked us how our meal was when I was almost finished and I advised her it was just as well I had my own teeth! She said I should have said something at the beginning and the chef could have made another. I don't rate a chef that puts something so visibly dried up and overcooked out in the first place to a diner. My friend said her chicken was "okay". The serving was short of veg and for the £11.95 price tag ,way overpriced. I went to Armstrong's up the road last night and got the most delicious steak for £10!! When the bill arrived, there was no compensation or further discussion re the meal. I won't return to Airlie Arms. I will continue up the road and go where the food is fresh and the chef knows what they are doing. A pity. Disappointing.
