Held Mum’s wake here on 26 August. An updated menu to the one provided at Dad’s wake in 2019 and it certainly didn’t disappoint! That we only used one box for leftovers speaks volumes. We had the small room at the front of the pub which has a cosy and informal atmosphere - ideal for a small funeral. Service was efficient, respectful and unobtrusive.nWould definitely recommend. Thank you.
Always wonderful service at the Rodney, Marta and Anna are always stars. Exceptional value on the Seniors and Lunchtime menu’s. Worth visiting and I’d also add having seen the review below is the only reason we go is that the Rodney is dog friendly. Surely in 2025 many families have dogs and it’s great to have somewhere nice to take them. On many visits I have never seen a dog owner allow a dog to eat off a plate. This is an upmarket pub in one of the best districts of Nottingham and I just can’t see that happening.
Booked a table for 8 for a Sunday Lunch and it did not disappoint!nnFood we ordered included: Mushroom Bourguignon Wellington, Kids Turkey Roasts, Hunters Chicken, 3 small plates for £14.50 chicken wings, catsu fries and halloumi fries.nnDesserts we ordered included: Caramel Biscuit Cheesecake, White Chocolate Blondie, Lava Cookie and Ice cream and Chocolate Brownie and Ice Cream.nnAll of the food was served hot and portion sizes were great! Great variety of food, spoilt for choice.nnService was 10/10, atmosphere was 10/10, lovely village pub vibe.nnWould 100% recommend.
Lovely traditional pub with nice relaxed atmosphere. We went for Sunday lunch and booked in advance which I would recommend as I doubt we would have got a table otherwise. At £12.95 for a Sunday dinner I expected it to be better than average. Meat and roast parsnips were fab and it’s great to have cauliflower cheese included with no extra cost, a star deducted for the other veg and roast potatoes for being a bit bland. Overall would recommend and will be returning to try other dishes.
Lunchtime visit staff are really good, meals are ok no complaints. Nice pub good atmosphere been many times in the past and will be back.
