Have enjoyed eating at Blake for the last 30 years, good portions, freshly cooked, friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Our last visit was a bit disappointing, we both felt cold the whole time we were eating, food wasn’t as hot as normal. Down side, asked about disable grab bars for the toilets about a year ago but nothing, though the area could do with updating. Parking: If lucky there is parking outside on the road for an hour, which is ok if not busy, otherwise public car park about 100 yards up the road Wheelchair accessibility: Doors are quite narrow, but should get a wheel chair through, but a couple of steps to go to the toilets
Ordered fish and chips twice and two battered sausage and chips twice, when I got home only one lot of sausage and chips were in the bag and what was in there was cold. Not the first time this has happened but I was willing to give them a second chance, they won't be getting a third chance, better off going elsewhere.
Fantastic fish & chips!! Such friendly helpful staff, and there’s an extensive gluten free menu which means you’ll never miss out! On our last visit they were kind enough to give my partner a gluten free sample of a dish they were introducing which was lovely btw. All in all can’t recommend enough!

At the beginning of the month had a lovely fish&chips, eat in with my kids.Big portions, fresh & tasty with a lemon wedge hate vinegar! and plenty ketchup instead of the tartar sauce. Nice service our waiter was attentive and kind and a lovely desert for the kids! Happy, thank you! We'll be back

I have not used this fish "n" chip shop for some time now as I no longer live in the area but it was as good if not better than when I used to live here. 10/10Food: 5/5

Always been here and been good, went this week and they were awful. Had take away and paid £32, found out they had given us an extra meal we didn't ask for, gravy was cold, asked for large mushy peas and got a tub of gratted cheese instead!! Fish batter was oily and soggy, chips pale. Service from staff not brilliant as they didn't put salt and vinegar on, when asked to do it, they said "oh I will have to un wrap it!!" With and attitude...Can you do it at home?? I was eating out! So asked for a little vinegar schet...no we haven't got any! pants, overcharged, missing items and soggy food! Sorry Blakes you've lost a long time customer.
