I have been going to this surgery for over 50 years. They joined with another surgery without consulting, saying it would give us a better service. What they didn't tell us was at the other surgery they had one part time doctor who was about to retire! So now the doctors at AH have to run two surgeries, no wonder you can't gee seen by a doctor. When you phone up you spend best part of a hour before reception answer the cal. When they do they act like they are a doctor wanting to know what the problem is before deciding who should deal with you. Since when have reception had medical qualifications? If you withhold information you are treated as non urgent and might get a call from a nurse. I know there is a shortage of nhs staff and appreciate they doing difficult job. Bit I wonder what the service would be like if we had to pay out of our own pocket when we wanted to see a doctor? DO YOU THINK THEY WOULD HAVE TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER? There are so many things wrong with this surgery, unfortunately it is run by people who don't listen to what others have to say.
What happened to this place!? I have been coming here for about 7 or so years now and it used to be very good. 9 out of 10 times, you could usually get seen by a nurse or a doctor the same day. But now, they have stopped face to face appointments which is fine in theory but, a call at "some point in the morning/afternoon" is a nightmare. just give me a time slot where i know for sure that i can be near my phone and discuss my health problems. And also, is it just me or have the receptionists become increasingly nosey over the years? No. I don't want to tell some lady why i need to see a doctor. i would rather keep it between me and the health professional. But thanks anyway... When i used to have to see a doctor, it was "just a thing" that i needed to do every now and then. now-days, i just dread it. Please bring back the old system
As bad as it can get. I am trying to get a problem sorted for months and I go there almost every week now to remind them that I've been promised a resolution but no one cares and every time I am being told a lie. I am denied access to a medication that I need and I almost lost hope. They rather let me suffer and be in pain for months than help. Is really hard when I pay so much taxes out of my salary and get nothing in return, absolutely nothing. I tried to move GP but no one accepts outside of area. This country is turning into a 3rd world country very fast...shame
Rubbish doctors surgery, wait ages to speak to a receptionist or the queue is full and when you do get through the receptionist has broken English and tells me I can’t speak to a doctor even though I rang in the morning and was chasing up a prescription for my child. Won’t give me access to my child’s health records or the doctors name dealing with my request. Disgusting service this surgery is getting worse!
reception staff very friendly and helpful especially the lady with blonde hair and glasses, but takes a while to get an appointment, have to wait weeks sometimes,a few good doctors who listen to your needs but not all are like this
Worst surgery I've ever had, but more so the reception staff than the actual doctors! I've had the phone put down on me today, after I was annoyed at trying to get a repeat prescription filled for the last 4wks!
Very often they canceling appointments just few hours before. They always late. My last appointment was delayed 50 min. even there was no queue. Personnel is very unpleasant and not helpful at all. AVOID if you can.
I was surprised with the poor reviews as I've never had any issues with this surgery. The receptionists & doctors have been lovely.
I don’t know why receptionist think it’s okay to speak to people like they do. Thinking they’re bouncers for the GP. Literally huffing n sighing on the phone then hang up on you. Always saying oh we have no appointments call back at 8am. You call at 8 to wait for a call back an hour later what a surprise no appointments.
The lady’s that work in reception should all be sacked as they don’t understand the importance and responsibility of their job and don’t hit the deadlines promised to pacients. I came here with a work related issue and was promised a call back during the day never got one. Besides I had to register with them with me having a nhs number that shouldn’t had took more then a couple hours. And from 8a.m to 18h:30 there was no one there that had 2 minutes to do their job. Disgusting
