I'd rate this place 0 star if I could. Full of Google diagnosis staff who aren't trained correctly. They are also good at misdiagnosis. Never heard anything good about them. If booking a appointment, good luck as they hate seeing people, even for emergencies.
Doctor Denim is rude uncaring and a disgrace to the NHS. He has no regard for how he speaks to people and is a awful person. I will never go back to this practice !
Overall, happy enough with AMC. Did have reason to send letter of complaint many years back and it was dealt with. Must admit some of the receptionists way nicer than others!!! Am very grateful don't need to bother AMC very often but today needed advice and 'Amy' was cheery and helpful.
Put prescription in early but still waiting and in severe pain with a fibromyalgia flare up .phoned to see where my prescription is and it's still down there to be checked .in agony with no painkillers to help .can't even get out my bed due to the pain .total nightmare.not even worth one star
Oct 2022 Had the joy of having to call today to try and speak to a dr.09.15 Got a nurse who hadn't a clue what she was talking about, told me to take 2 paracetamol, anymore problems to call back. Still in agony I called back to be told nurse had finished for the day. Receptionist couldn't have been more helpful. Eventually at 5pm Dr Denholm called, never in all my years of working with NHS and being a patient have I ever had someone talk to me with such a terrible rude attitude. He is very aggressive, doesn't let you talk and at one point told me he couldn't understand me because of how i SPOKE. Being Scottish is such a difficult accent to understand! In tears I hung up on him. He called back and spoke to my husband, he apologised for how he was and for stressing me out. His excuse was he was the only dr there was very busy and it was coming up to closing on a Friday. Sorry but is that not your job???? Not my fault you took so long to call me back. Will definitely be taken this further. If I spoke to the public like that in my job, I wouldn't have a job. No need for this attitude. But on a plus side I got oralmorph to help with pain from my injury which thankfully is helping. Now looking for a new surgery. Stay away from AMC, never gets any better. April 2022 Unfortunately all the bad points of the surgery out do whats still good about it. Receptionists need to learn how to actually speak to patients their attitude is awful when you phone. Believe it or not people don't want to be ill they are actually looking for help when we call you. Trying to get an appointment with the doctor, What doctors never any on!!!! always reduced service. Eventually got to speak to a dr, only been trying for 2 weeks. I said 4 words and he spoke the rest, never listened and wouldn't let me get a word in.Call lasted 2min. Came off so frustrated and disappointed, and he was supposed to be the good male dr, who listened to patients. Waste of time. Place is a joke.
Been on the phone for 30 mins with no answer. First call told me i was 3 in the call queue then after 14 mins i was 1 in the queue. After 5 mins the line went dead. I called back again and was told 3 in the call queue. After 15 mins i just gave up.
Tried calling to make an appointment, each time I am told the doctor only works certain times and to call back when he is in at 8am on Friday. They will not take any bookings otherwise. This is a problem as calling is hard enough, to call back at a certain time is next to impossible for my disabilities. It’s been 2 weeks of me trying and today I miss the window, call and they are closed…at 1pm on a Friday they are shut?? Sighs. I ain’t got any other choice as other doctors are slammed and this is what I’m left with. What happened to the reception being super nosey and wanting your personal and confidential information and then sarcastically giving you an appointment in 2 weeks? I can’t believe we have doctors slammed and yet ours are part time and we can’t book appointments Unless doctor is there? Haha
I must be registered with a different Academy Medical Centre from the other reviewers!!! I have recently moved to the area and all I can say about the staff is they are BRILLIANT. Helpful, friendly, approachable and professional. I am delighted to be with them and certainly feel in safe hands.
This establishments staff and doctors don't have any respect towards the patients and there respect is under any critics. Every single time I've been there they all look not happy with life. I changed my doctor already a bit back but from now on I'm also changing my sons doctor. Big thanks to Friockheim health centre and staff/doctors.
Awful, dr denholm needs to retire he has no way with his words
