Have been going to this restaurant for a number of years now, it has recently been taken over by new management and it's almost the same as before. The meat there is all Halal which is good but they have put their own twist on Persian cuisine. It's quite pricey but it's an enjoyable experience due to5 very nice, friendly and attentive staff. Absolutely fantastic. From the start to finish, service is polite, fast and friendly. The packaging is well thought, keeping the food very hot. As for the food itself, well seasoned and cooked to perfection served with excellent rice and a side pot of sumac and sauce. Huge portion sizes and well worth the price. Highly recommended. 30 minutes ticketed free parking available on the main road parking bays or free parking after 5pm
It’s my go-to place when I fancy a decent Persian meal- lovely staff, Eva and Soraya were amazing when I went there yesterday with a couple of my friends for an warly dinner. Food was great, as always :
Food is great and halal of course. But it takes soooo long to make that I don't even know why they are open for business! The service gets worse and worse each time I go. 1. Food takes a ridiculous amount of time. We ordered starters and meat, it would make sense to bring the starters and start cooking the meat, which would then be ready after starters. But they do not start cooking the meat UNTIL you finish your starters, it's absurd. 2. Even as a takeaway, the food said it would take 40minutes to get ready and yet it took 80minutes! It's simply disgraceful. 3. Practically need to jump out of your seat and scream to get their attention and even if the restaurant is not busy you will need to ask 3+ times for the same thing. 4. The manager is rude to her waiting staff.
Absolutely fantastic meal. The food was incredible, really tender meat and tasty stews and really generous portion sizes. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back here again and strongly recommended.
If you like Persian food then you must visit here. Brilliant food, cosy ambience. The manager and staff are very friendly.
Absolutely fabulous experience! The food is top notch, we have eaten at many Iranian restaurants in London - the quality and quantity of food at Abshar is outstanding. Ali really looked after us and provided excellent service. The lamb shank is a highlight! Thanks Ali!
The food was amazing, filled with flavour, with attentive staff, who are very energetic, and seem very happy to work there. Watching them cook 6he bread is amazing, with it all looking amazing, with the rooms being filled with traditional Persian items on the walls around the walls, giving it a really good atmosphereFood: 5/5
WARNING: Do NOT eat at Abshar if you want good Persian food...The food is not the same!! We've been long standing customers of Abshar since the days it was a quiet unassuming restaurant with it's signature fountain in the restaurant. Since then it transformed with it's popularity and doubled in size and rightly so. Time and time again we would go with friends and family and the food was always consistently good. So tonight, we ordered takeaway and the food was absolutely terrible! Straightaway l knew there was a change in the chef as the food did not taste the same. The Joojeh chicken kebab boneless was dry and bitter when it used to be succulent and juicy. The Koubideh minced lamb kebab was oily and lumpy and tasted like it was made with fatty poor quality mince. The rice used to be long grain which was fluffy and flavoursome and now it is a poor alternative, a much shorter broken grain and was tasteless. I am so disappointed that the standards set by Abshar for so many years have fallen so low with this change in management and chef. l would advise to look elsewhere for good Persian food as the new Abshar is not good at all.
We ate in today, something we used to do regularly not to mention place numerous takeaway orders. Unfortunately our experience left a lot to be desired. The restaurant is under new management with a new chef and boy does it show!! The service was awful - we spent £60 but were refused tap water because we weren’t ordering alcohol shock horror we’re muslims dining in a halal restaurant However takeaway customers were being offered free bottles of water. We weren’t once asked how our food was despite the takeaway customers again getting five star treatment. Just as well I guess as the food had zero flavour and was soaked in butter. The salad olivieh was dry and also had zero flavour. The best thing was the bread. Needless to say we will not be returning nor placing further orders. There are other decent Persian restaurants out there.
