I had a brilliant day on the Italian bread course yesterday. The venue was gorgeous and Rachael immediately put you at ease. Who knew learning to make bread could be so much fun! I came away with lots of, hopefully not misplaced, confidence and really think I may have actually cracked it now. Can't wait to get cooking at home although, you come away with so much gorgeous bread you have baked that it may take some time to munch my way through it. Can't recommend Rachael and the classes she runs enough. If you want a fun day but one that leaves you with some actual bread making skills, this is for you. Thank you Rachael and to all my fellow bread making pals.
I attended the Middle Eastern breads day course, Oct 2022. From a starting point as total beginner Rachael gave me such confidence and the results were fantastic. We made 2 types of dough and from these made 6 breads in total, all of which were fantastic. We had one bread as part of our lunch and the rest came home with us. I’ve now been out to buy ingredients so I can carry on baking at home , using the recipes Rachael emailed over a day later. Not only was the day instructive and interesting, but it was also great fun. We had a lovely group, with lots of chat, and it was great to pick up baking tips from others, plus info about the best local restaurants, butchers, veg sellers etc. I have been on a few cookery courses and Rachael’s day is up there with the best, highly recommended!
I attended the Great British Breads course yesterday, it was such an amazing day. The class was really fun & informative, I went to improve my skills and learnt so much. The class was really inclusive as there were bakers of all skills there and Rachael made it accessible for everyone. Rachael's knowledge is superb and she's an excellent teacher. This was a really enjoyable day and I'm looking forward to doing more courses with Rachael, and taking home more delicious bread to impress friends & family with.
As my wife and I had already enjoyed the Italian bread course, it was time to delve into the world of sourdough bread. The class was very informative, conducted at a relaxed pace with five classmates with varying experiences. Rachel is a great teacher, and the day is very relaxed and includes a delicious lunch. You also take home all your baking. Next up, French bread?
Really enjoyed the French baking course last week. Rachael puts everyone at ease and explains everything so well. The proof of the pudding is always when you bake the same items yourself without support and I was delighted with the Second breakfast Granary loaf and baguettes which came out of the oven this morning. I would recommend the course to novices and those who have done a bit of baking as Rachael has many tips which make all the difference. I had been looking at bread-baking books previously, but having done the course, I feel much more informed as regards the science of baking and confident to tackle new recipes on my own.
Had a genuinely wonderful day with Rachael and the class attendees making, baking and tasting some delicious Italian breads! My partner and I made the trip to Abergavenny especially for this class as part of a Christmas present, and I’m so glad we did! We stayed at the Lamb & Flag inn and had a delicious meal at Casa Bianca the night before, it’s a lovely town. Rachel’s kitchen is an amazing space to spend the day, and she was so knowledgeable and personable. The entire day was very informative and productive, whilst remaining relaxing and fun, we all had a great laugh and left with a bag full of bread and full stomachs! I would absolutely recommend this class to anyone.
Back for third time.... Italian breads incl focaccia and ciabatta. Fantastic new setting in the new cookery school. Great value for money and lumch and refreshments included and yoh go home with a bag of your own baked breads! Back for second lot of baking - thoroughly enjoyed Welsh breads today. My husband says the Bara Brith is just as good as he remembers as a child and the medieval trencher bread and swansea loaf are ace. Day baking course learning to make french bread and croissants exceeded all expectations - talented and passionate baker Rachael managed to get good baking out of all of us from the novice to the experienced cook. Highly recommend
I absolutely loved my day on the french breads course. I'm stunned that everything turned out so brilliantly well and I actually made some beautiful looking and delicious tasting breads. Rachael is a really enthusiastic teacher. I loved learning some of the science underpinning the techniques as well as the relaxed day, the delicious second breakfast and lunch and the whole setting. I can't wait to return
My sister and I attended the Great British breads class yesterday. As well as baking some amazing breads the whole day was a lovely relaxing fun experience. Rachel was very helpful and informative and shared her passion for bread making. It didn't matter if you had never baked bread before, all the breads were perfect and we've certainly impressed with our bakes. Thank you for a great day
An amazing day, I learnt so much during such a friendly and relaxed day, Rachel is an excellent teacher, so knowledgeable and so obviously enjoys sharing her knowledge. It was great fun and the breads we made were absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be booking one of the other classes. Thank you Rachel for sharing your skills and knowledge and giving us all such a lovely day.
