Ticket counter closes at 3pm. Have electric on ticket machine. Couple of seats. Car park. No F&B. It does the job but needs updating
Aberdare is nice town lots of interesting buildings and a lot going on. Had its first youth pride last summer anyd very active lgbtqia group.nAll the shops you'd expect and a few you wouldn't. While the town is on slope it's got lots of areas that make crossing the road easier for wheelchairs having lowered curbs. Not great for self powered wheelchairs due to slope but very hard to find flat areas up vallies.nI always remember it for interesting nights out with friends where we met the most varied and interesting characters.
Best place for parks and lovely views and places to visit in Aberdare
Part time ticket office. Car park but can o ly have a parking ticket if you purchase a train ticket. Steep slope up to station so difficult if you have a wheelchair I would think. Departure boards. No toilets. 1 platform. All weather cover. 2 metal poles for bikes.
It is what you would expect however, as is typical with Arriva Trains Wales, the stations are poorly maintained and the trains are ancient. Furthermore, there are no public conveniences at the station, with customer having have to walk to Aberdare bus station.nnThe station is also beyond dirty and it is not uncommon to see used condoms and syringes there. Arriva need to get their act together. I am giving it two stars only because the trains are on time.
