To summarise why you should avoid buying their houses and falling for their sales patter: - Terrible after care service (expect to wait months, years for them even to begin to look at the snags). - When they do make an effort to review the snags, it usually takes them several visits to confirm the defect (when it is clearly visible to see), followed by endless personal chasing and inaction by Abbey - Endless snags which they overlook, fail to address - Poor workmanship (uneven floors, uneven gardens, broken pipes, cracked fittings, windows coming away from frames, work left undone etc) - Electricians and plumbers have advised the work done by Abbey is of extreme poor quality (they found pipes, builder debris, a u bend etc just dumped behind appliances which caused them to fault) - Cheap fittings used rather than those which are specified - Constantly cutting corners and trying to avoid rectifying their mistakes - Hire sloppy contractors who create more issues - Management oblivious and seldom make any efforts to help I could go on and write an endless list but you get the gist that they are a terrible developer. Speak to people that live in their developments and you'll no doubt hear countless and continuing horror stories about their work. Save your time, money, endless hassle by not buying their terrible new builds. UPDATE FEB 2018: Abbey are useless, same issues reported over 18 months ago still persist. They advise they’ll fix but nothing gets done UPDATE APRIL 2017: Issues reported in March 2016, Abbey continue to shirk responsibility and made no attempts to fix. Continuing to find further examples of their shoddy workmanship. Customer service are useless and extremely slow; a year to even address snags let alone fix them highlight the standard of care you get with one of their homes.

Save yourselves!! We have exchange so are stuck!! Been waiting for our new home for 5 months and still no end date in site!! Rubbish comms and excuses !! Save yourselves the stress and headache
