Since we are from Canada we stayed at the Abbey Hotel from Oct 18 - 24/2017. Absolutely lovely experience. Family lives close to there so was quite convenient. We were able to have 2 relatives join us for breakfast for an added fee, all so worth it for the English breakfast (included in the room rate) we were served. A huge thanks to our waitress Val who went in early ...like 6:30 am..the day we were leaving so we could have breakfast. It just doesn't get any better than that, she always made us comfortable. Great service, very nice room, wonderful people. Highly praised.

I was at The Abbey Hotel for a work Christmas meal. Very, very good service. I liked that the meal was a set price and everybody bought drinks from the bar. That made paying the bill a lot easier One of our party had to ask for music to be out in as as the area where we were sat lacked atmosphere. Good was ok. Typical group Christmas dinner fayre. The staff did very well to bring it all out together and in good time

superb from moment I arrived. 
I travel all over world and this is a gem on UK soil. 
Chocolate at reception. 
Tidy clean room.
Staff chatty and fun.
Food really nice.
Quality of customers excellent. ( pub in Wales recommended and now following Boxer Ted Cheeseman). 
Friendly welcoming place, locals are superb. 

Can't fault it. This place sets the standards.

Friendly and welcoming hotel, bar and restaurant. Food is all homemade and exceptional. Staff cannot do enough to help. Often have live music and live football. Plenty of seating.
