Popped in for Sunday brunch… what a treat! Fantastic breakfast meal, very generous and great value. Staff were friendly attentive and welcoming! Thoroughly recommended
We arrived only minutes before food orders were finished, but we were made feel welcome and received excellent service from the moment we walked in.nAs a coeliac, eating out can be a challenge, but not so here - there were multiple options available. The staff member serving us even took the time to mention that one of the specials was suitable for a coeliac. I ended up ordering the special, Thai marinated chicken satay with peanut sauce and noodle salad, and I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had.nThis is a lovely spot to visit - friendly atmosphere, delicious food, and a stunning location. If I ever visit Llangollen again, I’ll be sure to pay this little bistro another visit.
One of the best Sunday Roasts I've ever had! First visit today, will be back soon and a frequent guest in the future!nSuper fresh and Tasty! 5 Stars!
Poor food and service.nnWe booked for 5 Sunday lunch. It's our fifth visit over a span of a few years. We visit the area and booked there as we are close.nnI have enjoyed it in the past and left good reviews. The last two times were not good.nnThe Sunday lunch was served with a choice of Chicken, Beef, or Lamb.nnThe Chicken was fine and my husband enjoyed the Lamb.nMy son and I don't eat lamb so ordered the Beef.nnIt was so tough. I couldn't cut it with my knife and asked for a steak knife but really struggled.nnI cut up my sons beef to remove the choking hazards leaving very little. Despite that, we hardly ate any it was like the sole of an old boot.nnThe roasties were a warmed up and dense and the Yorkshire puds were burnt black around the edges.nnThe server was plesant but kept taking food away before my son had finished.nIt wasn't busy there at all. We were the biggest table and most were empty.nnThe desserts were nice.nI was prepared to pay for everything, even the extra £3 for terrible roasties, but felt that she shouldn't charge for the Beef dinners.nnWhen my husband went to pay she said she offered lamb so she won't refund.nnFrankly this was bad customer care. She could see us struggle with cutting and we left 90% of the food on the plate. We tried to get her attention early but she was in the back.nnEventually a meal replacement was too late. She knew that because my husband had finished his meal already by this time.nnI ordered beef but got leather.nShe eventually gave my husband £6 off the bill. It was £24 for the dinners we couldn't eat.nnBetter places in the arean-The Corn Milln- Gales/Samsn- The Three Eagles
If I had a £1 for the times I've passed here since I lived in Llan l8 70's to moving back to Anglesey I'd be able to restore the Abbey lol ok maybe there was no Bistro then but omg what a great place could not fault anything about the food apart from gravy bit thin lol the beef had so much flavour and being an ex butcher I should know, looking forward to coming on a Sat to sample the menu.
