I love abbey cottage. I have to say service was a little slow however there were many takeaway orders coming through and they were trying their best but the food! The food makes up ten fold. Best Chinese in market harborough food wise. Could do with the music maybe a smidge louder to give atmosphere when it's quiet in there Food: 5/5

I wouldn't even give a 1 star, all food was cold, chips clearly old and re cooked, all meat dishes were most veg and even then burnt! Ribs? More like knuckles swimming in water! Absolute waste of £60, don't order unless you like cold burnt tastless food swimming in grease

Literally one of the worst takeaways I've had, hate to be that guy aswel.  The ribs were soggy and swimming in oil, and the chow mein was dryer than the Sahara desert. One extreme to the other.  Will not be coming back unfortunately

After 4 and half hours travelling back from Blackpool. We were looking forward to a Chinese meal. Had chicken omelette and chips. Chips were either reheated or double cooked. They were cold when we got them.  Waited 1 hour for delivery.

Been a customer here for 7 yrs and whist I appreciate I ordered very late at night , the food was awful. Chicken in black bean tasted burnt and most definitely wasn't fresh, chicken with mushrooms was so watery. I don't think I'll be coming back. Not worth the risk when I'm wasting 30 to 40 quid a time.

The price and the food is really really good and the people working the front are nice, so I feel really bad about this review, but we’ve ordered from them 3 times and all 3 times there’s been something wrong- it’s not worth the risk unless you’re willing to eat whatever or are only ordering for one person.  The first two times were on week days and within a week of each other in September, and both times two dishes were just missing, but we just let it go because we figured it was because we ordered for 6 people, and we live over a 20 min drive away.  We decided to give them a chance again on Saturday 21st of Nov since we were only ordering for 3 this time, and out of 4 mains being split we were given one semi wrong dish chicken satay skewers instead of the standard satay ordered, but that’s fine, and one completely wrong dish something with chicken and a coconut sauce instead of Salt and chilli fried beef. Again, we live a decent drive away so we just made it work since we’d already paid, but this time we messaged their Facebook page about it- no response though, only the automated canned response. I will say that we’ve never had any issues with the vegan food ordered though, it’s always been with the meat mains and rices.  If it was just the once we’d let it go, because working in a pandemic sucks and stuff gets mixed up sometimes, especially on a Saturday; but we can’t justify ordering from them again when it’s now been wrong 3 times in a row for orders placed several months apart, 2/3 on less busy weekdays

Thanks so much to abbey cottage and especially Nathan , we have just received a very tasty Chinese delivered on time and nice and hot. What was especially brilliant was the service we received in respect of queries relating to gluten free orders so helpful and clear. Even the lovely delivery driver made sure i got the gluten free info. Thank you
