Andrew Sale quoted for a garage conversion and a new detached double garage and it was detailed and competitive. After talking to previous customers we knew he was the builder for us. To say that the responses were glowing would be an understatement. From those lengthy conversations we knew the names of his team and that they were really nice guys with a strong work ethic and they had an eye for detail. Despite problems with supplies due to the pandemic, materials were ordered well in advance to make sure that no delays happened on site. However, the weather did not play nice, and repeatedly caused the concrete for the foundations and floor to be postponed. Things were made worse from building on an old millpond and substantial steelwork had to be added to the foundations. The steelwork had to be created at very short notice to take advantage of one good pouring day and so Andrew and a colleague arrived just after 6am to create the required steelwork in time for the pour. At such an early hour we were concerned about noise but there was no need to worry. We didn't even hear them arrive. Andrew was in close contact with the Building Inspector throughout the problems with the foundations and not once did his solutions not meet the Inspector's highest standards. Andrew quoted 12 weeks to complete the build and despite all the problems caused by the pandemic and the ground on which we had the garage built, he finished bang on schedule. Finally, Andrew's carpentry is of a standard that even my very critical father-in-law could not find a single fault, and he really, really looked. The Building Inspector found no fault with the entire build and was impressed with the attention to detail across the entire project. Andrew returned to create a "deliberately random" set of fences and gates made from Red Cedar and we will have Andrew and his guys back, with no hesitation, for the final aspect of the refurbishment and improvement of our home.
