I would just like to say how wonderful, caring and supportive Jeff, Lesley and the team at Gascoignes have been to our family since taking care of my wonderful mum Sheila Richardson, until the day of her funeral. You have held our hands throughout this sad time and looked after our mum with such dignity and love. We all can,t thank you enough for being there for us. I know alot was decided for already due to mum being on a funeral plan which massively helped us, but on all other decisions, Jeff guided me and my sister Wendy through it all with such compassion and understanding and Lesley was always on the other side of the phone to answer anything that we required or needed help with. The funeral itself could not have gone more perfect for my mum which is the most important thing. Thank you to all the team for not just looking after our beautiful mum, but also the whole family.
Jeff and his team are all great and take all the worry and trauma out of a funeral in a calm and dignified manner. The funeral of my lovely wife Ann Robinson was perfect. Malcom Thomas led the service and delivered a beautiful eulogy, thank you everyone at A.J.Gascoigne you really are the best. The conservatory for after the funeral is perfect 2 lovely ladies serving tea and coffee with a very pleasing buffet, faultless
A huge Thank you to Gascoigne and son. A fantastic service from start to finish. Everything thought of and taken care of. Made everything really easy at such a difficult time. Can’t thank them enough. We also had the after reception in their conservatory. What a lovely spread of sandwiches and cakes. The ladies with the tea and coffee were fantastic. Highly recommend them. Thank you to Jeff and Lesley for their kindness and support at such a difficult time for myself and my daughters and for helping us to put together a memorable send-off for my mum which I hope did her proud. Jeff's dad Alan had handled my dad's funeral back in 2002 and it was an easy choice to return to the Gascoigne family. This time, for my mum, a repatriation back to the North East was involved and this was organised smoothly and efficiently by Jeff. Nothing was too much trouble and Jeff or Lesley were always on the end of the phone for me long distance and then there to support me at Woodhorn. Heartfelt thanks and I have no hesitation in recommending your services. Thank you.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for helping and guiding us through one of the toughest times we have ever had. You have all given us great support with your friendliness and professionalism, you have been caring, respectful and made everything so personal, we could not have asked for more. We believe if Barry could have chosen his own send off this would have been what he would have chosen, especially the black and white coffin. Being able to come and sit with Barry and say our final farewells meant a lot to us all. Thank you for taking care of him until he made his last journey. From initial contact to the funeral itself Jeff and his team were professional and caring. Jeff was able to guide me through all the necessary details after the death of our mother, Margaret Heslop, with kindness and compassion. Lesley was always at the end of the phone for advice and help. Many many thanks for all the care taken with my mother. This funeral director and his team treat everyone with dignity, care and kindness at a time when you are upset and in need of good advice. Thankyou from all the family of the late Margaret Heslop.
I personally found my experience traumatic & was utterly shocked by the lack of thought for my feelings as a young mum who's lost her child. My son was just another job! Without going into detail, it was the most harrowing ordeal of my life.
Embarking on organising a funeral for the first time in my life was a very daunting and anxious prospect. From the very first contact with A.J. Gascoigne much of those initial feelings were greatly reduced. A very professional, person centred and sympathetic approach was experienced. All employees were brilliant but I must give huge thanks to John Stoddart. John's laidback, reassuring approach, combined with his willingness to answer any question and act on my behalf at times was hugely appreciated. Thank you to everyone at A.J. Gascoigne, a top class service all round.
Jeff, Lesley and all the team helped and guided us to make a beautiful send off for our Mam. After her sudden death we didn’t know how to start planning a funeral as we were all in shock. Their care, knowledge and attention to detail gave Mam the funeral she truly deserved and would have been proud of. Thank you so much.
Jeff and Lesley Gascoigne and team helped me organise my mums funeral with the utmost dignity and compassion. I wouldn't have chose anyone else. They guided me to make my decisions at such a distraught time. I also opted to have the wake back at theirs which had an amazing buffet in a warm welcoming atmosphere. I know I did right by my mum because we were both looked after from beginning till end . Can't recommend these guys enough.
