Its embarrassing that a funeral directors are looking for a deputy manager for the Reading branch and you have to have the covid vaccine to have any chance. The covid vaccine doesn't work.

I found the lady I spoke to today both kind and extremely helpful. It was a historical question and as such she was very kind, despite the fact it wasn’t worth any financial gain to her or the firm. Sasha and the team at AB Walker Reading were outstanding with helping me with funeral arrangements for my dad. It was my first time ever stepping foot into a funeral directors so it was very scary but the team were all very understanding and sympathetic. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Sasha would make sure I was happy with every single detail before it was sent off for printing etc. We had an Arsenal theme and Sasha went above and beyond and made sure that the drivers wore red ties on the day which was a beautiful touch. When my family paid for a funeral, we expected a service with reasonable care and skill within a reasonable time scale. We feel very letdown and didn’t even get an apology…. Thank you for the quick response to my review
From start to finish AB Walker have been excellent. Despite the difficult circumstances, all the staff made it easier. Sacha and James were great, providing regular updates of what was going on. All reception staff were very welcoming and very understanding. I have no bad words to say to anyone. Thank you AB Walker
A.B. Walker & Son Ltd provided us with excellent service during lockdown, in January 2021, when demand was high and restrictions very limiting.......... causing potential frustration! All our questions and requests were dealt with quickly and with compassion. Nothing was too much trouble. Tony, the 'conductor' rang the evening before the funeral to reassure us that everything was in hand, confirm timings and procedure, and to check that we had no concerns. We had arranged for the hearse to 'tour' the deceased's housing estate so that neighbours who were unable to attend the service could say their goodbyes from the pavements with flags and waves - a nice touch while we walked or drove cars in procession behind. Tony put everyone at ease. At the chapel he instructed the pall-bearers and saw everyone to their socially-distanced seats. Nobody was left sitting alone. Rachel, the 'celebrant' was exceptional. She was only able to use phone calls and emails with us to outline content for her eulogy, but time-limit seemed not to come into. She was available for as long as we needed, and the result, and her presentation was spot on. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
AB Walker Reading were highly recommended to us and we used them for my mum's funeral. They were very professional and provided excellent service throughout. Making these kind of arrangements can be very daunting and we were very grateful to Clare and all there who looked after everything and all went smoothly even given current restrictions. We couldn't have asked for anything better.
