I bought a laptop here a while ago and have had no problems with it so I cant comment on the quality of the laptops they sell , however I sent my mother down with her laptop (not bought from AB computers) after the screen had failed to turn on, she was quoted £140 to fix it and it would have to be left there. Obviously not wanting to pay that amount she took it to CEX (also not bought there) where they fixed the problem in 4 hours and charged her £0.00 she also explained about the £140 charge from AB and they laughed!. I am far from a computer expert but £140 major problem at one shop and a small technical fault in the other seems odd.

I am now repairing a machine for my friend who took his machine to AB computers to get fixed. My friend knows nothing about computing and went in innocently, to try and solve a problem on his pc, and walked out with said issues not being fixed, his hard drive wiped, and an unofficial copy of windows placed on it. 1) why install a counterfeit copy of windows especially as some people might not know how to reinstall or be able to afford a copy of windows and not offer advice about it? OK, a copy of windows would cost more than the £45 charged for a service you offered, but even so - why do it without permission? 2) The PC in question is unable to run any sort of windows on the current memory that it has. Why was the customer not informed and advised, instead of hastily assuming a reinstall would fix everything? 3) No "after sale" service or advice. Why hoodwink people for money? be open, transparent and ethical. Just because someone doesn't know about PC's doesn't mean you can earn a quick bob Why wasn't the customer advised about his machine being inferior to windows 7 installation. Why was there no other checks done to verify HDD/s or any potential memory issues or even motherboard issues? You took money from an unemployed man who was trying to fix his PC so his son could do his homework. The problem still remained, and any chance now had gone because the original (registered and licensed) copy of windows was replaced with counterfeit.

as someone who doesn't know much about building a gaming PC i went to the shop thinking that if anything went wrong i could bring it back to have it repaired. when i got home with it everything seemed fine. HOWEVER a matter of weeks later the PC was riddled with blue screens and even simple cartoonish games had extreme FPS drops. on return to the shop nothing was done. I eventually fixed the bluescreening MYSELF but the FPS is awful throughout with their only excuse being "software issues"- this means that it renders the PC entirely useless.
