For may years we had continued to order cakes from Paz owner after our initial cakes for our Wedding and children's birthdays have been fantastic. Strangely, despite seeing many a post on social media showing him with various well known celebrities posing next to his cake creations, the standard and quality of his finished cakes have been dreadful these last 2 years. The finish and taste of the final cakes have been well below par. I really can't work out why this is, other than he no longer makes the cakes himself anymore. Unfortunately, this year will be our last time we order a cake from A B Cakes and I would suggest, due to our recent experiences, that you ensure it is the owner that fulfils your order from start to finish...
Ordered a 3 tier cake for my mum's 80th. Was really disappointed with the end result. Was covered in cheap plastic flowers and cake was under cooked. Totally tacky and not worth the price I paid. When I complained, I didn't even get offered a discount or an apology. I was told they used silk flowers. OMG They were CHEAP & TACKY..plastic multicoloured flowers!!! that went straight in the bin.
Terrible service and communication issues, when I initially ordered two cakes on the same day one rather large and expensive I paid a deposit after settling the total amount only for the main man who runs the business to over charge me and then had spoken rudely to me, not an apology or any signs of being remorseful. In addition to this, the cake I was over charged for was nothing like what I asked for or unexpected and the sponge was very dry and stale. Total waste of money, horrendous services and I would definitely not suggest using this inexperienced or rude business.
We had our wedding cake from them in August 2018 and it was wonky, by that I mean the cake was slanted. The detail was very sloppy and the cake really didn't taste that good. They are cheap but I think it's for a reason. I loved every part of my wedding and the only thing I would've changed was this cake

A B cakes are THE go to place for cakes in Wolverhampton. First of all the history of the shop, serving cakes to Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Floyd Mayweather! If that doesn’t convince you about the profile of this shop, I don’t know what will. Also the story of the owner, Paz Heer, is astonishing. On his first day he cleaned the shop for 10 hours. Now he makes amazing cakes for A-list celebrities. The story is amazing. Now the important thing, the cakes. OMG, these cakes are better than anywhere. I have seen reports saying that thank God there is a Sainsbury’s nearby. You will never, ever get a better cake at Sainsbury’s than what you get at A B cakes. The icing, sponge, decorations and taste are all beautiful at a good price as well. 10/10 for Paz, his team and A B cakes!
Doesn't even deserve 1 star but cannot post without a star. Really disappointed with the cake. Looked awful and tacky, not the service you expect from a cake shop! Looked like no effort had been put in, I had a phone call on the day to confirm details of the cake....so no thought was put into making the cake until the day it was supposed to be picked up. Definately would not order a cake from here again! Awful!
Wonderful two tier cake made for my Mum's 70th birthday. Cake was delicious, and made perfectly to our requirements. Excellent service! Thank you.
Been using AB cakes for a few years now. Very reliable and even gets cakes ready at short notice. Brilliant cakes and great service. Highly recommend.
Ordered a cake.. was beautifully made to my desired requirements. The service was efficient, professional and very helpful. Would be happy to order again.
