I booked a minibus from A1 to transport a group of friends for a weekend away, Edinburgh to Dundee and back. Excellent service from everyone. The office staff dealt very efficiently with any queries I had, the drivers were friendly and professional, the minibus clean and comfortable, arriving on time as requested. Would definitely recommend.
This company is excellent! I booked them for a night out for 24 people. They had great contact prior to the trip and Colleen our driver was lovely and had a speaker for us to play music on the bus. Was a great experience and will definitely be booking again in the future!
Really happy that we used A1 for the coach service for our wedding. They ran 2 coaches for us both ways serving Dundee and St Andrews. They let us add a load of stops to each coach to pick up individual guests, and went through the route multiple times with me in excruciating detail, and I really appreciated their patience in doing so. On the day, the service was really slick, and a lot of guests commented as much. Definitely recommend!
I was very impressed by the service we received over the weekend. Our bus driver was punctual and friendly, and the coach was very stylish and comfortable which made the trip even better! The sales team were also very helpful on the phone so I will definitely be recommending A1 Minibus and Coach Hire onto others :
Return Methil to Edinburgh airport. 7 girls. 7x22 kilo hold luggage and 7x10 kilo hand luggage. One pick up point. £180. First time we have used an airport taxi service and from this experience alone I would recommend a1 coaches. We all usually get to the airport ourselves, some getting dropped off and picked up or taking cars and parking there so when booking I picked one collection and drop off point to make sure everyone was on time for our flight. Returning - collection is when i had to phone the driver so when everyone had their bags I phoned him and he told me where to go. If you have never used a coach pick up point before please note that it is a fair walk for someone who has poor mobility like a few of our party so would probably recommend the last person was at least half way before calling the driver in future. I was told there are extortionate charges for any delays so allowed for this. The price was less than £26 each return. As a driver myself I am glad I used the airport service and will definitely use a1 coaches again and I recommend a1 coaches to everyone. Sometimes when being the organiser you need to know the group of people you are travelling with and if things go wrong the driver gets the blame. Personally I put this down to poor communication so I would advise at all speak to the administrators at a1 coaches, they're human just like us...oh and don't forget to let each and everyone of your party know exactly what you do. They are not telepathic lol. I'm speaking from experience being group organiser and even the best laid plans go wrong just because others believe they don't have to stick to the agreed schedule.
Do not hire this company if you want to feel special and receive standard of bus you paid for on you wedding day. I hired this company for my wedding on 24th June. When I called, I asked for an 8 seater luxury bus, to which I was told the smallest bus they offered was a 12 seater. I was happy with this, so went ahead and booked my confirmation email showed I would receive a 12 seater. On the website it showed buses at good quality and the 12 seater had leather seated, tables, and in general a nice condition. On the day, as I had a few extra seats I offered these to other guests attending the wedding. I was disgusted by the clapped out bus that I can only describe as an old school/scout bus which only had 8 seats. Nothing like the photos on the website. The bus driver called the office and passed the call to me, at which I received a disgusting attitude from the office staff member. They told me that as I had 8 people, that's what I got. I'm sorry, but if I paid for a 12 seater then that is what I expect to receive. 3 of my wedding party and guests had to be driven to my wedding in Edinburgh by one of my bridesmaid's parent who just happened to live round the corner. To top things off, the driver was pleasant enough, but had never driven to Edinburgh before and had to ask me for directions. I will never use this firm again. They never once admitted fault and didn't offer a solution to my stressful situation. Instead they were rude, argumentative and unprofessional.
I called this complaint for a 24 seater bus to Glasgow airport from airth...the company is based in Methill Fife so not that far from where we are. Was told be find another company nearer hand as the based in Fife scotland so to my disgust I said i live 20 mins top away from you and it's a 24 seater bus surely it's worth the travel over...but NO apparently not. Anyway days pass and I keep receiving emails regarding the booking do I wish to proceed 3 emails to be presice so 3rd time I email back saying no I do not wish to proceed as was told to find another company. Then this morning the best email.comes through saying that's for your booking with us and all the details of pick up. I mean who runs a company like this I haven't even had a price for the journey now there sending me emails saying it's booked. Phone call Monday m9rning to get this company told wish I had never asked in the first place....IDIOTS please avoid at all costs
Driver parked across bus stop in busy St Andrews meaning buses couldn't get to pavement or use ramp -had to help disabled users into road onto bus. A1 driver oblivious to difficulty as busy in EE phone shop by looks of things.
