I've been living there after leaving a hospital. Stinky small room for £220/week. Council was paying and agent was suggesting living in controlled enviroment for a while, so I took it. Spent two years looking for a flat. At the end, guru Emil Macau informed that tenase ceased, beautiful Camille Anderson forgot to mention that council hadn't been paying for a year and French portier has been lying every week, when I was paying, that there's no any debt. Got billed for £1500 and sent on street. Mafia. Stay away. Been months till I got up.
Great facilities....including Sauna. Personal trainers very knowledgeable, courteous and experienced. Would be great if membership was not inclusive of all classes as some of us just want to use the GYM. MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. Option will create more clientele. Way too expensive!! People for places gym £18.99 per month!!!
I am a member of this gym as it is close to work. I have decided to terminate my subscription as the hygiene is unacceptable and the gym too smelly and dirty. Nothing has changed in months despite the several complains to receptions. - The steam room is a tiny hole and has got a constant carpet of fluff of pubic hair on the floor. See the images attached. They are taking on different days. Nothing has changed in months we have been there. - The soap containers often are filled, by sick customers, with body-fluids you can imagine which ones. - One of the girls at receptions, when we pointed out the steam room in the male area was filthy, replied "I can't get in there right now, but we know that. I have been told it also smells of sweat and dump, right?". they know it and they do nothing. - Air conditioning is always extremely low and both when you work out or shower you have a cold, constant draft hitting you. There is no way to change it and it's very unpleasant and unhealthy, especially when you are sweating. - The rooms for Yoga and Body Pump are poorly heated and we were asked to wear jumpers and jackets to warm up. The Yoga class becomes a survival exercise when at the end you stop and relax and start shivering instead of enjoying the relaxation. - The rooms for Classes are used during the day by kids to play and by elderly people and therefore you have your Yoga session on a dirty floor and with toys, chairs and other items scattered and piled up around you. Definitely no atmosphere in there. You feel like you are at secondary school gym lesson. It's a third world environment and I am surprised hygiene inspectors are fine with this place. Have they actually ever been? The hygiene at this gym has become a matter of laughter with friends and coworker that had used the same gym. The images talks more than any word. I can't understand why they think it is acceptable to have such a unhealthy environment and why they keep ignoring members comments. It' would be so easy to keep such a small place tidy and clean.
Surprisingly good food, outstanding customer service. Nice place to hide with toddler on a rainy day. There is small but OK equipped play area, friendly staff, good enough coffee. Also children ballet and gimnastic classes run by professionals from local dance and gymnastics studios in affordable prices.
Staying at the YMCA in surbiton, the guy next door is smoking crack every 30mins throughout the night and the smoke is going into my room. Spoke to 3 case workers here and they won't do anything! I'm paying over 1000 pounds a month on housing benefits to breathe crack smoke while I've got cancer and homeless. I hate YMCA place.
Worst gym and centre I’ve ever been to. The staff are extremely rude and the trainers upstairs are awful. Most of the time their swanning around and don’t help anybody is someone asks. I got a temporary memebership to see what it was like and they always treat like they were doing me a favour every time I went in and out or even speak to them. And the locker rooms are horrendous. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. I’d recommend going to one of the gyms in Kingston.
This is sadly my local gym but most certainly the worst I've ever come across. The main issue I believe is that the staff are apathetic and rude. You'll never feel so disrespected or undervalued for your monthly membership fee at any other gym. The gym is dirty and cramped. It needs a thorough revamp.
I had a terrible experience trying to visit this club. I was new in town and just wanted to try/ checkout the gym to see if I would like it. The staff was not friendly or helpful at all for that matter. I asked to do a drop in and they would not let me see the gym, asked that I pay £6.50 to just look around. The manager wasn't there conveniently and he did not help me get set up either and he told me that they don't do drop ins very unorganized they told me 2 separate answers, And how are you supposed to sign up if you can't try out the gym first? I am a personal trainer and I have worked at over 5 different gym clubs in the past and this would never happen at any of the clubs I have worked at. Very unimpressed with this club and I do not recommend joining YMCA. Unprofessional.
Pretty standard Gym however it is overpriced which they excuse by the inclusion of classes however there is no option to opt of the classes if you have no interest. Reception staff seem pretty much disinterested and bored the majority of the time responding to questions with mostly “huh?”, “hmm..” and “erm..”. Apparently there are personal trainers available for for almost £50 an hour I would honestly just go on YouTube for exorcise/workout tips and for dietary advice Google offers free detailed workbooks, programmes and your Doctor can also give personal advice based on your age, weight, dietary requirements ect. All in all after seeing no improvements over the years it’s hard to see where all the profit gets spent on because new equipment, facilities, staff training and technology seem sub-par.
The YMCA in Surbiton is a great place to go if you are looking for somewhere with good food and drinks for very reasonable prices, lots of space for babies / buggies and very friendly staff. There is a play area for toddlers and lots of high chairs available. Enjoying my time there, every time I go. Would highly recommend.
